We will sail along the beautiful Kaag lake towards Leiden. Upon arrival, you get the chance to discover this typically Dutch city. Leiden had its heyday during the trades of the 17th century.

As there is no central market square, markets in Leiden are usually staged along the Nieuwe Rijn banks. This tradition goes on to this day. On Wednesdays, the market is along one bank, and Saturdays both banks of the Nieuwe Rijn are used. Bridges across the Nieuwe Rijn are named after products from that age.

Leiden has a vibrant and cosy town centre and besides being the oldest university city in the Netherlands, its fame comes from being the birthplace of Rembrandt van Rijn. Other Dutch masters, such as Jan Steen and Jan Lievens were born in this city, where Rhine arms meet.

At 3 pm, you will sail back to Warmond by ship.
